Dana A. Burns, M.A., LPC

Dana A. Burns is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University and later obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance.  Dana has over 25 years of experience working with clients stipulated to court ordered treatment for substance use, anger management and other mental health needs.  She is also a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator.  This program provides an on-line assessment that produces results that focus on building healthy relationships and stronger marriages.

Dana’s straight forward collaborative approach incorporates a variety of therapeutic principles and philosophies in order to create the ideal treatment plan to meet the needs of each individual client or couple.  She enjoys working with teens and adults in areas related to grief, divorce, substance abuse, marriage, relationship concerns and life transitions.  Dana encourages clients to focus on how thoughts and feelings impact actions.  Her goal is to empower clients to believe that they are in control of what they think and feel thus resulting in a more desirable outcome.

She is a member of the Texas Counseling Association.  Dana is also open to discussing interfaith matters if so desired by the client.
