Kim M. Svatek, M.A., LPC

Kim Svatek

Kim Svatek is licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  Kim received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and her Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Kim has experience working with children and adolescents as well as individuals, couples and families. She partners with clients journeying through issues with anxiety and depression, relationship and family problems, workplace stress and academic issues. In addition, Kim values working through the healing process related to trauma, abuse, self-harm and complex grief. Her counseling approach is tailored to each individual, stemming from a variety of techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, brief solutions-focused therapy, reality/choice therapy, family systems therapy and non-directive play therapy for children.

Kim is a certified Prepare/Enrich counselor, focused on helping couples explore and strengthen their relationships at any stage. Additionally, she is trained in Christian Moore’s Why Try Resilience Program, helping clients to bounce back from life’s challenges and identify tools and techniques to overcome adversity. In addition to individual and family counseling, Kim also facilitates group classes on anger management and parenting skills at FamilyTime Crisis & Counseling Center.

Prior to receiving her Masters in Counseling, Kim earned her M.B.A. from Texas A&M University, and has over 15 years of experience in organizational development and change management. She is actively involved in community volunteerism and her local church.

Kim’s ultimate goal is the help her clients find value and strength within themselves to achieve the changes they desire. She values the opportunity to work with clients of all faiths and backgrounds, and is privileged to hear your story and participate in your growth journey.
