Adela Rushing, M.A., LPC

Adela Rushing is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Tennessee Technological University and took part in OIF IV while serving in the Army.

She enjoys working with people of all ages and has, in the past, specialized in couples counseling and trauma victims. Adela’s interesting and varied background provides a unique counseling perspective which she brings to her clients to aid in their recovery and healing. She has worked with clients with a variety of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, marital/relationship issues, bipolar disorder, addiction, stress, human trafficking, and PTSD. She has worked previously for a nonprofit organization as a counselor. She has also worked as the director of Free The Captives’ summer job program. Adela has interacted with children in varied capacities and believes that every child should be reassured that they are heard, seen, and valued.

Personally, Adela enjoys spending time with friends, woodworking, reading, and spending time outdoors in the woods. She is also a very active member of Houston’s First Baptist Church.
