Hope V. Brown, M.A., LPC


Hope Brown is certified by the Texas State Board of Examiners as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Hope has a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Prior to her education in counseling, Hope served in the Army Reserves and received training as a Respiratory Therapist, working in the medical field in this role for 12 years. Hope obtained counseling experience working in various settings, from private practice at Kimberly Boyd Counseling Center, LLC and non-profit work for Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center, to facilitating parenting and depression/anxiety groups at churches and hospitals. Hope also works in inpatient psychiatric care, where she has facilitated groups for coping skills and chemical dependency, conducted family and individual sessions, and routinely assesses those who deal with chronic and new onset mental illness for their need for crisis care and stabilization.
Hope accepts individuals and couples of all ages, and utilizes child-centered play therapy with children. Hope has completed Level 2 Training in WhyTry and Level 1 of WhyTry Resilience for Youth Training. Hope combines elements of Person-Centered, Emotion-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and Existential approaches to counseling and believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to achieving growth in the counseling process. Hope wants to empower clients with the ability to realize their potential and know that their past does not determine their future.
