Robin R. Gandara, M.A., LPC-Intern, NCC

Robin is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors under the supervision of Kimberly L. Boyd, M.S., LPC-S. Robin earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University, a CACREP accredited program, where she was awarded honors from Chi Sigma Iota, the International Counseling Honor Society.

Robin understands that life can be challenging and sometimes things happen that require individuals to re-examine the path they wish to take. Finding someone to provide support, encouragement, compassion, and acceptance can help individuals navigate life’s struggles and enhance life’s journey. For some, the thought of counseling can seem a bit intimidating. Robin is committed to making the counseling process easier by creating a friendly, warm environment of trust, support, and respect for her clients to openly explore and find meaningful change and purpose.

Robin’s professional experience includes working with adolescents, adults, families and groups with concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, behavioral problems, relational issues, and life transitions using a combination of cognitive-behavioral and solution focused approaches with a humanistic, mindfulness based orientation. In addition, Robin has a passion for working with children and primarily uses child-centered play therapy to help children express thoughts and emotions, address unresolved trauma, and develop healthier behaviors.
